Cody D. Curzi, 28, of Stoneboro, PA, passed away in his home Tuesday, December 10th, 2024 while surrounded by family and friends.
Cody was born March 29th, 1996 in Greenville hospital to adoring Parents Eric and Teresa Curzi. He was diagnosed at a very young age with Duchenne muscular dystrophy but never let his diagnosis define him or hold him back from living his life to the fullest. He enjoyed rides around town in his custom trailer pulled by his prized Model M John Deere tractors or his Dad’s percheron Max. Cody was known to frequent McCullough’s ice cream store and various bulk food stores in the area during his adventures. He has even been known to take his tractor through the local beer distributor. Cody looked forward to the Antique Power Show every year and loved riding his tractor around the grounds. Cody enjoyed fishing trips with his Father and Uncles and family beach trips. He found so much joy watching old movies and tv shows, spending time with his beloved nephews and his many friends. Cody loved music and would sing with all his might. His ability to shake up a dance floor was not limited by his wheelchair. No one could light up a room or make a group laugh quite like Cody Bear.
Cody especially enjoyed his time spent laughing with Uncle Dave and Aunt Dana, Drinking beer and fishing with his Uncles, thrifting with Aunt Jolene, enjoying Aunt Carissa’s many recipes and causing chaos with his big sister. All of his Aunts and Uncles made him feel so loved and supported. He enjoyed dining out, often treating his grandparents to a nice dinner.
Cody was a faithful member of the Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Franklin, Pa. He was baptized in April, 2007. He was unwavering in his faith, ever confident in Jehovah God’s promise of a resurrection to perfect health. His friends and family await this time with great anticipation. His favorite scriptures bring them comfort during this painful time. Isaiah 35: 6 “At that time the lame will leap like the deer, and the tongue of the speechless will shout for joy.” and Revelation 21: 3,4 “ with that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “ Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his people. And God himself will be with them. And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” Cody enjoyed sharing his faith in these promises with others.
His spiritual grandparents and many spiritual brothers and sisters have brought Cody immeasurable comfort throughout his many joys and tribulations.
