Constance Lou Crytzer

Constance Lou (Connie) Crytzer, 67, of 14 Bantry Ct., Waldorf, MD and formerly of Meadville, died Sunday, December 16, 2001 at Washington Hospital Center, Washington D.C. She was born April 23, 1934 in Meadville, a daughter of the late Kenneth L. and Helen Elizabeth Johnston Rupp. She had been married to John (Jack) Crytzer. She was a 1952 graduate of Mt. Lebanon High School, Mt. Lebanon. In 1969 she was a part of the first Practical Nursing Class to graduate from the Crawford County Vo-Tech. She subsequently earned her Registered Nurses degree in 1985 from Charles County Community College in Maryland. She worked as Director of Nursing for the Colonial Nursing and Health Services, Inc. of Maryland. She has also worked as a registered nurse for Health Pros of Maryland and was co-owner of MedWear Uniforms, White Plains, Maryland, a medical uniforms store. She was a member of the board of directors of My Brothers Place, Waldorf, Maryland and the Advocacy Support League, White Plains, Maryland. She enjoyed reading, horses and mentoring others and was active in politics. She ran for county commissioner in Charles County Maryland in 1994, losing to the incumbent candidate by less than 70 votes and she also ran for the Charles County Board of Education in 1996. She was a born again spirit filled Christian who attended United Christian Fellowship of Waldorf, Maryland. Survivors include 2 daughters, Jill Hughes and her husband Mark of Saegertown and Diane Edge and her husband Ray of Waldorf, MD; 2 sons, Thomas Crytzer and his wife Judy of Harmonsburg and Robert Crytzer and his wife Julie of Meadville; 9 grandchildren, Jaime and Adriane Hughes, Heather and Patrick Edge, and Travis, Jeremy, Sequoia, Sara and Kurt Crytzer; 2 sisters, Beverley Stein and her husband Richard of Conneaut Lake and Linda LaScola and her husband James of Meadville; and 2 nieces. She was preceded in death by a brother, James R. Rupp. Calling hours will be Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville. A funeral service will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Meadville Alliance Church, 660 N. Main St., Meadville with Rev. Jeff Conley officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
