Cordia “Connie” Hosick, 88, formerly of Holland Towers, Meadville and a resident of Rolling Fields Nursing Home since December 2002, died Monday, January 10, 2005 at the Meadville Medical Center.
She was born in Richmond, Ohio, January 22, 1916 a daughter of Alva and Nelda Wiser Thompson. She married Edward W. Hosick December 28, 1934 and he preceded her in death August 5, 1952.
She worked in the Laundry Dept of Wesbury United Methodist Community for 12 years and previously worked at GTI in Saegertown for 11 years, Talon for 11 years and American Viscose Corp. for 8 years.
She enjoyed animals and especially her cats.
Survivors, include: one son, Alva J. Hosick and his wife Liz of Meadville; one daughter, Doris Reagle and her husband James of Franklin, NC; one brother, Glenn Thompson and his wife Donna of Conneaut, OH and ten grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Edward W. Hosick and Kenneth Lee Hosick; two brothers, Donald Thompson and Douglas Thompson and four sisters, Mildred Scott, Marleah Seppi, Verna Mae Johnson and Marie Price.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, January 18th from 6 – 7 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut St., Meadville. The memorial service will follow at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Bruce K. Davis, Pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Porters Corners Cemetery (Greenwood Twp.).
The family suggests memorials be made to Crawford County Humane Society, 11012 Kennedy Hill Rd., Meadville or the Salvation Army, 1087 Park Avenue, Meadville, PA 16335.
