CPL Timothy Joseph Lauer, 25, of 606 ½ State St. Meadville, died Saturday, October 14, 2006, as the result of hostile actions while serving with the U.S. Army in Iraq.
He was born in Meadville September 30, 1981, a son of Vincent Joseph and Deborah Hogan Lauer, III. He married Valerie Kline December 31, 2004, and she survives.
He was a 2000 graduate of Cochranton High School and the Crawford Co. Vocational Technical School. He played both football and baseball as a student. He enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing, playing cards and playing in the Black Water Band.
Survivors in addition to his wife Valerie, include four daughters, Chairity, Stephanie, Carrie Covell and Jane and one son, Jordan Covell all of Meadville; two brothers, Jonathan Michael Lauer and Christopher Lee Lauer both of Cochranton, his Mother, Deborah Dye and her husband Michael of Meadville, his Father, Vincent J. Lauer, III of Cochranton, his maternal grandmother, Clara Klinko, of Ft. Worth, TX, his maternal grandfather, Dane Hogan and his wife Noreen, of Saegertown, also, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Vincent and Mary Lauer and maternal step grandfather, Clifford Klinko.
Cochranton American Legion Post #836 will conduct a service at the funeral home Saturday for the family.
Calling hours will be Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc. 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.
The funeral service will be Monday at 10 a.m. at Blooming Valley United Methodist Church 24740 State St. Meadville, with the Rev. Cynthia Snyder, Pastor and Rev. Christine Rogan, former pastor, officiating.
Burial with military honors provided by the Pennsylvania National Guard will be in Cochranton Cemetery, Cochranton.
