Cynthia Calder Smith, 67, of Meadville died at home Friday, November 2, 2012 surrounded by her family.
She was born in Meadville May 21, 1945 a daughter of Arthur E. and Anne Calder Mason. She was first married to Wayne Hoover and he died September 30, 1986. She married Archie Dean Smith July 18, 1984 and he survives.
She was a graduate of Meadville High School. She worked several jobs in the area over the years, most recently working as a driver with the Hubbard Bus Service for 12 years. She retired in 1997 to help raise her grandchildren.
She was of the Protestant faith. She enjoyed camping, ceramics, crocheting, sewing and spending time with her family.
Survivors, in addition to her husband Archie of 28 years, include: three daughters, Betsy Teasdale and her husband James of Meadville, Patricia (Trish) Allen and her husband Brian of Meadville and Brenda Denman of Meadville; seven grandchildren, Chelsea Teasdale, Jamie Teasdale, Emily Allen, Aaron Allen, Paul Peterson, Susan Peterson and Andrew Peterson; three great grandchildren, Blake Hoover, Jessalyn Hoover and Gabrielle Peterson; twin brothers, Timothy E. Mason and his wife Juanita of Meadville and Thomas R. Mason and his wife Diane of Meadville and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband, Wayne Hoover.
Calling hours will be Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.
The funeral service will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Joe Kaufer, Chaplain of Southern Care Hospice, officiating.
Interment will be in Venango Cemetery.
