Cynthia Louise Tracy Liepins, 58, of Meadville, died at home surrounded by her family, Thursday, December 19, 2013.
She was born in Meadville September 4, 1955 a daughter of John R. and Patricia A. Smith Tracy. She married Ilmars (Chico) Liepins in August 1981 and he survives.
She was a 1973 graduate of Meadville High School and a 1977 graduate of Allegheny College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. She continued her education with graduate work at Methodist Theological School in Delaware, OH. She had been a Therapeutic Support Staff person with various local agencies.
She had many interests. She loved all animals and rescued many and loved being outdoors in the sunshine. She enjoyed walking the Woodcock Dam with her very dear friend Nancy Pears and was known for walking across the street to her mom’s house, barefoot, all year long, even in the snow. She loved visiting Montreal and Niagara Falls, Canada with her husband.
Survivors, in addition to her husband Ilmars (Chico) of 32 years, include: her mother, Patricia Tracy of Meadville; two sisters, Diana Perry and her husband Dan of Cochranton and Kathy Spataro and her husband John of Meadville; seven nieces, Megan Hays and her husband Troy, Lindsey Jones and her husband Jerry, Marissa Spataro and her fiancée Kristen Campbell, Andrea Sheckler and her husband Travis, Carly Spataro, Sonia Liepins and Tamara Liepins; a nephew, Mark Liepins; three great nieces, Emilee Hays, Alivia Hays and Aubrianna Sheckler and a great nephew, Ryder Jones.
She was preceded in death by her father, John R. Tracy; a brother-in-law, Oyars Liepins; a sister-in-law, Brunny Liepins, her mother-in-law, Zelma Pumpurs and her father-in-law, Viktors Liepins.
Calling hours will be Sunday from 4-7 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.
The funeral service will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Sarah Roncolato, Pastor of Stone United Methodist Church, officiating.
Interment will be in Greendale Cemetery
The family suggests memorials be made to Southern Care Hospice, 1245 Park Avenue, Meadville, PA 16335.
