D. Jayne Jacobs

May 28, 1936 — December 10, 2021

D. Jayne Jacobs, 85 of Milledgeville, passed away on December 10, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family. Jayne was born in Mercer on May 28, 1936 to the late Arthur and Alice (Williams) Stright. She was a 1954 graduate of Cochranton High School. Jayne worked as a homemaker raising her four children.

Jayne married her beloved husband, Roland F. Jacobs, on June 23, 1956. The couple recently celebrated their 65th anniversary. He preceded her in death on August 21, 2021.

Jayne enjoyed going shopping as much as she could with family and friends. She was always searching for leopard-print items, shoes, and jewelry. She enjoyed camping in their 5th wheel camper, traveling to Florida and many other destinations. Jayne was able to travel around quite well despite never having a driver’s license. She loved attending her grandchildren’s sporting events, especially softball games. She loved playing games such as Mexican Train and was known to lose her marbles during games. She was a member and past president of Cochranton TOPS and was very active and loved walking in her earlier years. She adored her family, enjoying family picnics, birthdays, and other get-togethers. She will be remembered as a loving and sweet mother and grandmother who was silly and had a great sense of humor.

She is survived by her children, David (Linda) Jacobs of Monroe, NC, Debra Jacobs of Milledgeville, Duane (Amy) Jacobs of Carlton, and Darlene (Greg) Gould of Milledgeville, grandchildren Sarah (Ben) Lybrook of Meadville, and Logan Jacobs of Missoula, Montana, great-granddaughter, Lydia Lybrook, sister Linda (Chester) Harsh of Sheakleyville, sisters-in-law Deanna, Patricia Stright of Sheakleyville, and Shirley Stright of Mercer.

In addition to her husband and parents, Jayne was preceded in death by her sister Margaret Thompson, brothers Donald, Keith, and her twin, Wayne Stright.

The family would also like to extend their appreciation to Jayne’s caregivers, Donna, Lisa, Linda, Lori, and Silke, for their exceptional and loving care.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Rose and Black Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc.

Services will be private.

Interment will take place in Milledgeville Cemetery.
