Daniel Allen Smith

Daniel Allen Smith, 52, of Cambridge Springs died Monday, June 19, 2017 at the Meadville Medical Center as a result of his life long struggle with diabetes.

He was born July 14, 1964 in Meadville a son of H. Harold and Leatha Allen Smith.  He was a 1982 graduate of Maplewood High School and worked for many years for Quality Markets in Meadville and Corry.  He enjoyed woodworking, often making his families Christmas gifts, gardening, raising sheep and collecting model toy tractors.  In his youth, he also enjoyed trapping.

He is survived by his two children, Landon Smith and Alexandra Smith both of Erie.  He would never miss one of their school or athletic events.  He is also survived by his mother, Leatha Smith of Meadville; his brother, Scott Smith of Meadville; his sister, Leona Smith of Guys Mills and his nephew, Anthony Smith of Guys Mills.

He was preceded in death by his father.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, N/W PA Chapter, 707 West 38th Street #128, Erie, PA 16508 or the Barber National Institute, 100 Barber Place, Erie, PA 16507.
