Daniel K. Walton, 96, formerly of Warren, a resident of Wesbury United Methodist Community since June 1, 1987, a one-time general secretary at the YMCA, died Friday, November 22, 1991 ,at Wesbury.
He was born in Berwick, February 15, 1895, a son of Harry and Jenny Kingsbury Walton. He married Dorotheaa Naef in 1923. She preceded him in death September 29, 1981.
He was a general secretary with 40 years of service at the YMCA in Trenton, Metuchen, and Jersey City, NJ, and Warren. He also sold and installed storm doors and windows and did picture framing, retiring at age 91. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Warren, where he was a former Sunday School teacher and superintendent. He was a veteran of WWI with the US Army Ambulance Corps in Italy and France. During World War II, he operated the Yorktowne, VA, USO for the YMCA. He was a 40-year Rotarian and a member of the Berwick Masonic Lodge. He was a member of Coudersport Consistory and Warren Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include a son, David Walton of Arnold, CA; a sister, Lena Harmon of Plymouth; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery, Allentown.
