Daniel Lee Rankin, 11, of Cambridge Springs, was tragically killed in a hit in run accident while riding his bicycle along Route 77 in Athens Township.
Daniel Lee Rankin was born in Meadville on May 15, 1956, a son of Charles M. Rankin of Rochester, NY and Mrs. John Lewis, the former Ruth Winters.
He attended Teepleville Methodist Church and was in the 5th grade at Townline Elementary School.
Surviving are his father, Charles Rankin; his mother and step-father, Mr. and Mrs. John Lewis of Cambridge Springs; a sister, Miss Connie Lewis; five brothers, Michael, Gary and James Rankin and Larry and Paul Lewis, all at home; the maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Winters of Kerrtown; the paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Homer DuPont of Cochranton; the maternal great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Winters of Kerrtown and the maternal great-grandmother, Mrs. Frank Chase of Franklin.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
