Daniel Norman Wiant

Daniel Norman Wiant, 71, of Meadville died Sunday, May 20, 2018 at Meadville Medical Center following a sudden illness.  He had been in poor health.

He was born May 12, 1947 in Dubois, PA a son of Fred Norman and L. Claire Shook Wiant.

Danny grew up in Meadville on the family farm on Route #27.  He attended Meadville High School and Vallonia Industries.  He worked on the family farm until his father’s death.  He then worked for Vallonia Industries, Labruzzo Enterprises and Lynn Walker Construction.  He liked to work with his hands and was always fixing things.  He enjoyed watching movies, going to the ARC of Crawford County, the Senior Center and doing crafts.

He is survived by his mother, L. Claire Wiant of Meadville; five sisters, Audrey Snow of Meadville, Kathy (Lyle) Loucks of Linesville, Jean Wiant (Fred Smith) of Glenolden, PA, Gail (Charles) Lilly of Sarasota, FL and Laurie (Joseph) Rossi of Meadville; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and his friends from Child to Family Connections, The Arc and CHAPS and his pet bird, Princess.

He was preceded in death by his father, Fred N. Wiant in 1976, his nephew, Jeff Moyer in 1990, his brother-in-law, William Snow in 2005 as well as his grandparents, numerous aunts and uncles and his pet bird, Prince.

The family would like to thank all the people who have helped with Danny’s care over the years.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

The family suggests memorials be made to Child to Family Connections, 13388 Dunham Road, CHAPS, 944 Liberty Street or The ARC of Crawford County, 222 Chestnut Street, all of Meadville, PA 16335
