Danny (Papa) White

Danny (Papa) White, 75, of Hartstown, died Tuesday, May 10, 2005, at Meadville Medical Center.

He was born January 19, 1930, in Columbus, OH.  He was the son of John and Elizabeth Racco White and stepson of Sam Mosea who raised him.  He married ElDora Shearer April 15, 1950.  She survives.

Danny was a veteran of the US Army, where he served from 1947 to 1949.  He was in the Combat Engineers, where he attained the rank of sergeant.  He was stationed in Japan and Korea.

He was employed as township supervisor of East Fallowfield Township.  He was retired from Byler Construction of Hermitage.  He worked many years for Bessemer Railroad and Greenville Tubes.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by six children, Dan A. White (Diane) of Kingston, TN, Linda D. Gutkin of Orlando, FL, Deborah Gregg (William) of Conneaut Lake, Doris Dagen (Robert) of Atlantic, Douglas White (Diane) of Atlantic and Kimberly Pruitt (Raymond) of Atlantic; two sisters, Mary Nageotte of Kingston and Sarah Kiskadden (Harry) of Hudson, OH; four brothers, Nicholas White of Greenville, Joseph White (Maria) of Greenville, John White of North Kingsville, OH and Henry White (Shirley) of Linesville; twelve grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Adam White and three sisters, Eleanor Hough, Jane White and Grace Scott.

Services were held with the Waid-Coleman Funeral Home.
