Darlene A. Hunter

Darlene A. Hunter, 83, of Meadville, passed away Monday, February 13, 2023, at Meadville Medical Center.

She was born September 8, 1939, in Chicago, IL, a daughter of Thomas and Florence Allen Jenkins.  She married Merle James Hunter May 7, 1960, and he preceded her in death July 24, 1996.

Darlene was a graduate of Meadville High School.  A homemaker, she enjoyed shopping and especially spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include a son, Douglas Hunter of Townville; four grandchildren, Melissa Hunter, and Bradley, Zachary, and Alex Russell; two great-grandchildren, Lily and Jaxson Snyder; a sister, Barbara Reisinger of Roulette, PA; a son-in-law, Edward Russell of Meadville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter, Sandra Russell; a daughter-in-law, Sally Jean Simmerman; and several brothers and sisters.

Calling hours will be Friday, February 17th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the ROBERT W. WAID FUNERAL HOME, 581 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE where the funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Walter Clark of New Beginnings Church of God officiating.

Interment will be in St. Brigid Cemetery.
