Darlene G. Gilmore, 73, of Linesville, was surrounded by family as she went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, January 18, 2021, following a heartbreaking turn of events after hip surgery.
She was born March 18, 1947 in Meadville, a daughter of Raymond and Gladys Flick Gilmore.
Throughout the years, Darlene enjoyed the simple things in life. She loved spending time outdoors, from riding horses and ATV’s, to camping and cookouts. Her hobbies included reading, watching movies, and puzzle books. She especially took joy in art therapy by coloring and scrapbooking for her family. She held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those around her. Most of all, she loved her family and spending cherished time with her grand and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include three children, Helen Brooks (Bill) of Conneaut Lake, Doug Wachowiak (Melissa) of Grove City, and Karen Coy (Rob) of Virginia; four grandchildren, Cody Shaulis (Erica), Kelsey Durovey (Ryan), and Wyatt and Harper Wachowiak; three great-grandchildren, Makenzie, Kiley, and Camden Shaulis; one sister, Marilyn Turner (James) of Jackson Center; two sisters-in-law, Phyllis Gilmore of Meadville and Martha Gilmore of Greensburg; longtime friend, Peggy Warihay of Exton; and several nieces and nephews.
