Darlene Joanne Shouey Stoyer

Darlene Joanne Shouey Stoyer, 62, of 17002 Dawn Drive, Meadville and formerly of Rt. 6 & 19, Saegertown died Saturday, October 20, 2001 at the Meadville Medical Center.

She was born October 23, 1938 in Meadville, a daughter of Edward L. and Mildred E. Barr Shouey.  She married Ronald L. Stoyer August 16, 1972 and he survives.

She worked in the Saegertown office of Integra Bank (now National City Bank) as a teller and previously worked for the Crawford County Trust Co. and First Federal Savings and Loan in Erie.

She was a 1956 graduate of Meadville High School and was a member of Watson Run Presbyterian Church, where she was a former Elder, Choir member and treasurer.  She was also a member of the Saegertown Sportsman’s Club and the Golden Crown Chapter, Order of Eastern Star.  She enjoyed working with plants and flowers, genealogy research, NASCAR racing and spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include: a son, Daniel E. Semerad and his wife Tamara of Meadville; a daughter, Denise L. Kornbau and her husband Gary of Hermitage; a step-daughter, Michelle Peters and her husband James of Saegertown; a step-son, Duane E. Mosbacher of Meadville and five grandchildren, Brian Winner, Evan Kornbaugh, Jeremy Kornbau, Justin Peters and Jenna Peters.

Calling hours will be Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.  An Order of Eastern Star service will be held at Monday evening at 7 p.m.

The funeral service will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Frank Duncan, Pastor and Dan McEldowney, Lay Leader of Watson Run Presbyterian Church, officiating.

Burial will be in Cochranton Cemetery.

The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, that memorials be made to the Watson Run Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 13594 Harmonsburg Road, Meadville, PA 16335 or the Crawford County Humane Society, 11012 Kennedy Hill Road, Meadville, PA 16335.
