Darrin Joseph Guerrieri, 25, of Meadville and currently residing in Pittsburgh, died unexpectedly Thursday, March 1, 2007 in Pittsburgh.
He was born in Greenville December 27, 1981, a son of Larry and Sue Fairchild Guerrieri.
He was a 2000 graduate of Meadville Area Senior High where he was a member of the MASH Bulldog Hockey Team. He was currently a student at the Pittsburgh Art Institute and had attended Duquesne University. He was formerly an active member of the Crawford County Youth Hockey Association. He was of the Roman Catholic faith, loved music and was dearly loved by his family and friends.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, Larry and Sue Guerrieri of Meadville, include a brother, Jason Guerrieri of Pittsburgh; his maternal grandmother, Bernie Fairchild of Meadville; two uncles, Harry Guerrieri and his wife Millie and their family of Maryland and Ronald Guerrieri and his wife Barbara and their family of Virginia; his God Parents, Ed and Louise Scopel of Cheswick; and numerous cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Harry and Roma Guerrieri.
Calling hours will be today (Saturday) from 2-7 p.m. and Sunday from 1-7 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville with a Scripture Prayer Service Sunday at 5:00 p.m.
Morning prayers in preparation for Mass will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11;00 a.m. at St. Mary of Grace Roman Catholic Church, 1085 Water Street, Meadville with Fr. Mark Hoffman as Celebrant.
The family suggests memorials be made to Meadville Bulldog Hockey Club, P.O. Box 318, Crawford County Youth Hockey Association, P.O. Box 201 or St. Mary of Grace Church, 1085 Water Street, all of Meadville, PA 16335.
