David Charles Karns

David C. Karns, 26, of Meadville, died at home, Saturday, July 19, 1997.

He was born in Meadville, August 10, 1970 a son of Lewis and Roberta Bardick Karns.  They survive.

He was employed as a grinder at Doutt Tool and Die and previously had worked at Leech Carbide and Kentucky Fried Chicken.  He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, a 1989 graduate of Meadville High School, a 1994 graduate of Slippery Rock University with a BA in Community Health.  He was also a certified EMT, a member of Vernon Central VFD and he enjoyed running, basketball and most sports.

Survivors, in addition to his parents, include a brother, Duane (Cherie) Karns of Erie; a sister, Mrs. Douglas (Debra) Gerlach of Erie; two nephews, Matthew and Lukas Gerlach and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Venango Cemetery.
