David E. Gilliland, Stoneboro, Pa, passed away after a brief illness at 8:00 AM, Sunday, 5-16-21 at AHN, Grove City. He was 95. Born May 10, 1926 in Sandy Lake, he was a son of Dudley D. and Bessie Moyer Gilliland. He was a 1944 graduate of the former Sandy Lake High School. He then served in the US Navy and was a WWII Veteran. After his honorable service he worked at the Westinghouse, Sharon, Pa and retired in 1984. Dave enjoyed taking care of his lawn and for many years enjoyed traveling and camping. He liked to tinker and fix things, but most of all enjoyed his family, especially his visits from great-grandchildren Lincoln and Stella, whom he adored. He married the former Phyllis E. Hefferman, August 18, 1951, and she survives at home. Also surviving is a daughter Marsha (Michael) Graham; a grandson William Graham, all of Stoneboro, a granddaughter Autumn Graham and fiancé’ Ryan Alford, of Polk, Pa and two great grandchildren: Lincoln Graham and Stella Alford. Also, several nieces and nephews. Dave was preceded in death by a sister Viola Parker, his twin brother Donald and brother Howard Gilliland. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Rose and Black Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc, 99 Franklin Street, Stoneboro, PA where family and friends are welcome from 2 – 4 & 6 – 8 PM, Wednesday (5-19-21). A Funeral Service will take place at the funeral home at 11:00 AM, Thursday (5-20-21) with Rev. Donald W. Howell, Pastor, Countryside Evangelical Church, Clarks Mills, Pa, officiating.
