David L. Durfee

David L. Durfee, Sr., 89, the son of Otis Charles Durfee, Sr and Katherine Marie Bowes, David was born in Meadville, PA on October 5, 1935, and went to meet his Savior on November 14, 2024.

David graduated from Randolph East Mead High School in 1954 and went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in art education from Edinboro College in 1985. Throughout his primary school years, David worked at several farms near his home before starting employment at Zurn Industries in Erie, PA. Later, David began working for Triangle Tool/Greenleaf Corporation and then at Durfee Industries, both in Saegertown, PA. With all the knowledge and experience learned through his years of working, he and his wife Ellen started Excellent Tool, Inc. in 1995 located in Meadville, PA.

David was a long-time member of The Gideons International and the Meadville First Church of the Nazarene.

David was preceded in death by his first wife Ellen Jennes Durfee, his parents Otis and Katherine, his brothers Otis Durfee, Jr., John Durfee, Tom Durfee, and his grandson David Durfee, III.

He is survived by his wife Anja whom he married May 22, 2010, two sons David Durfee, Jr. (Norma) of Meadville, Dennis Durfee (Eusabia) of Hobbs, NM, daughter Dawn Jones of Meadville and stepdaughter Dianne Orr of Fairport Harbor, OH. He is also survived by his grandchildren, DeAnna Runyan (Jason) and their children Maddison, Grace, and Savanah. Devon Bevacqua (Mark) and their daughter Arabella. Danielle Coppola and her children Liam and Emelia. Katherine Gonzalez (Armando) and their sons Ryan and Jose Armando. Laura White. Deborah Paul (Travis) and their sons Caleb and Ethan. Benjamin Durfee and his daughter Lilly. Jessica Edwards. His sister Mary Lou Gurnee (James), brother Mark Durfee (Rose Mary), sisters-in-law Dorothy Durfee, Carol Durfee, and Margret Durfee Adams, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. in ROSE AND WAID FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, INC. 581 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE with Pastor Dennis Durfee and Pastor Riley Brown, officiating. Family and Friend’s will be received on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The burial will be in Kingsley Cemetery, Townville.
