David L. Loutzenhiser

September 6, 1936 — January 13, 2016

David L. Loutzenhiser, 79, of Meadville, passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at Meadville Medical Center.

He was born September 6, 1936 in Jamestown, a son of George and Helen Crawford Loutzenhiser.  He had been married to Mary McMurdy and subsequently married Patricia Williams and she preceded him in death October 19, 2003.

Dave worked as an auto body technician at Weber-Harris Ford and Community Chevrolet.  He was a member of the Pennsylvania National Guard, was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and NASCAR fan, and enjoyed fishing and camping.  He especially loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

He was of the Methodist faith.

Survivors include four children, Regina Hatton and her husband Dale of Saegertown, Joseph Loutzenhiser and his wife Vicky of Cochranton, Michael Loutzenhiser and his wife Kim of Spring Grove, and Michelle Loutzenhiser and her husband Jack of Cochranton, his companion, Carol Baird of Meadville; nine grandchildren, Samantha Wilkinson and her husband Garrett, Shannon Hatton, Nikki Litwiler and her husband Josh, Josh Loutzenhiser and his wife Mariah, Lauren Loutzenhiser, Jeffrey Knippenberg and his wife Andrea, Ashley Grissinger and her boyfriend Justin, Rebecca Lawrence and her boyfriend Steven, and Amanda Hewett; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Alton Loutzenhiser and his wife Anita of Conneautville and Jack Loutzenhiser and his wife Patricia of Meadville; his beloved dog pup pup Lady; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Keith Loutzenhiser and two sisters Helen (Sis) Fischer and Katherine Wilson.

Services will be private.

Interment will be in The Cemetery of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Congregation, Zelienople.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Crawford County Humane Society, 11012 Kennedy Hill Rd., Meadville, PA 16335.

The arrangements have been entrusted to the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville where memories and condolences may be shared at waidfuneralhome.net.
