David R. Woods, Sr. 88 of Hadley, passed away on December 1, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family. David was born in Hendersonville on December 9, 1929 to the late John P. and Edna Ramsdale Woods. He worked at Cooper-Bessemer in Grove City retiring after 30+ years. After his retirement he worked for 20+ years at Karns Produce Farmers Market. David proudly served his Country in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. David married his beloved wife, Beula B. Beach, on June 6, 1950, she survives at home. David enjoyed playing guitar and singing and was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers fan. He would go camping every summer with his family and enjoyed fishing. He was quite the handyman and could fix anything. Above all else he loved his family, never missing a chance to spend time with them. In addition to his wife, David is survived by his son David R. “Skip” Woods, Jr. and wife Carolee of Sandy Lake, daughters Bonnie Karns of Franklin, Becky Gilliland and husband Todd of Hadley, and Bobbi Judy and husband Don of Franklin, grandchildren Connie (Tom) Karns, Wendy Wentling (Dan Hittle) Michael (LeAnn) Woods, Jason (Mikal) Pastuch, Sarah (Oren) Baughman, Nate Witherow, Cassie (Jason) Gadsby, Kylie Judy, and Ally Judy, 14 great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents David was preceded in death by an infant great-great granddaughter, sisters Mary Aylesworth, Blanche Osborne, and Sara Warner, brothers Claude, Charles, Joseph, Pete, Walter, George, and Frank Woods, and son-in-law John Karns. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Black Funeral Homes, Stoneboro & Sandy Lake. There will be no public visitation as per David’s wishes. A private interment will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made in David’s name to the American Heart Association 7272 Greenville Ave.Dallas, TX 75231.
