Dearno S. 'Dee' Gawne

DeArno S. "Dee" Gawne, 81, of Meadville and a resident of Wesbury United Methodist Community died there Thursday, November 12, 2020. She was born May 4, 1939 in Meadville a daughter of Donald P. and Virginia Thompson Siverling. She married Douglas F. Gawne, Jr. April 19, 1958 and he preceded her in death May 16, 2011. She was a 1957 graduate of Meadville High School and was a volunteer at the former Spencer Hospital. She was a life member of Vernon Central Hose Co. In more recent years, she enjoyed spending the winter in Lakeland, FL. She is survived by a son, Douglas F. Gawne, III (Beverly) of Meadville; a daughter, Lynn Sciulli (Riccardo) of Glenshaw, PA; five grandchildren, Nicholas C. Sciulli (Christine), Bryan Douglas Sciulli, Christopher R. Sciulli (Kaitlin), Douglas F. Gawne, IV and Daniel W. Gawne; three great grandchildren, Luca Sciulli, Lorenzo Sciulli and Lena Sciulli; a sister, Linda Ellis (Darrell) of New Hampshire; a nephew, Brian Ellis of Omaha, NE and a niece, Stephanie Mesquita of New Hampshire. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents. Calling hours will be Saturday, November 14th from 1-3 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville. The funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. Masking and social distancing is required. Interment will be in Greendale Cemetery.
