Debora K. McCurdy, 72 of Jackson Center, passed away on Wednesday, December 1, at Advent Health in Tarpon Springs, FL, with her family by her side. Deb was born in Grove City on June 18, 1949 to the late Charles and Sara (Brown) Gravatt. Deb worked for many years at the MIU 4 as a secretary then later a teacher’s aide. She then owned and operated her own certified day care from her home for numerous years. She was very active in her church, Vincent United Methodist Church, and loved her church family. She worked numerous years at the Vincent booth at the Stoneboro Fair. She loved traveling and going on cruises with her friends and family, taking numerous trips over the years. In her spare time, she enjoyed crafting, making candles and wreathes, gardening and tending to her plants, crocheting and quilting. Most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Deb was married to her beloved husband of 46 years, John K. McCurdy, he survives at home. She is also survived by her daughters, Lisa (Bob) Novak of Stoneboro, Jeanette (Jeff) Polick of Jackson Center, Tracy (Brian) Magargee of Jackson Center, and Kristie Williams of Jackson Center, grandchildren Dalton (Jess) Pence, Dylan (Fiancé Ashlynn) Pence, Leann (Mike) Woods, Jake Novak, Trent Novak, Jonna (Ryan) Hazlett, Alex (Clayton) Miller, Sam (Danielle) Magargee, Cody (Nicole) Magargee, Logan Williams, and Sara Williams, great-grandchildren Kensley, Emmreigh, Maleah, Easton, Oaklynn, Adleigh, Finnley, Rory, Bowen, and Cecelia, sisters-in-law Barb and June Gravatt, and Sandy McCurdy, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Deb was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Doug Williams, granddaughter Carissa Polick, and numerous brothers and sisters. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Rose and Black Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. 99 Franklin Street, Stoneboro, where family and friends are welcome from 12 – 2 pm and 5 – 7 pm on Thursday, December 9. A service will follow visitation at 7 pm with Pastor Janet Pratt, officiating.
