Deborah Britton Andrews

Deborah Britton Andrews, 57, of Meadville, died Saturday, December 5, 2009 at Hamot Medical Center, Erie following an unexpected illness.

She was born January 1, 1952 in Meadville, a daughter of Glenn and Letha Fisher Britton.  She married Daniel Andrews August 7, 1992.

Debbie was a 1969 graduate of Meadville High School and a graduate of the J.H. Thompson Beauty Academy, Erie where she received certification as a beautician and cosmetologist.  She was formerly employed at Shaunnesy’s on North St., Meadville and also had worked at H.H. Smith, Meadville.  She was a 17 year volunteer at Meadville Medical Center, enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, crafts, and traveling, particularly to New England, and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

She was of the Protestant faith.

Survivors, in addition to her husband Daniel, include a daughter, Autumn Getz and her husband Mark of Conneautville; a son, Chad Woodrow of Mercer; 3 stepchildren, Lisa, Kevin, and Stacey, all of Pittsburgh; her mother, Letha Britton of Cambridge Springs; 2 brothers, Bill Britton and his wife Bonnie of Townville and Rex Britton and his life partner Ken Corbin of Hermitage; a half-brother, Glenn Britton, Jr. of Denver, CO; a half-sister, Glenda Lee Proper of Greenville; a niece and nephew, Meghan and Garrett Britton; and several grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her father.

Calling hours will be Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.

A private family graveside funeral and interment service will be at Greendale Cemetery with the Rev. Ron Sheldon officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Meadville Medical Center Auxiliary, 12377 State Hwy 18, Conneaut Lake, PA 16316.
