Deborah J. (Mcleod) Dewitte

Deborah J. DeWitte, 72, of Meadville died at home surrounded by her family, Friday, September 18, 2020.

She was born January 30, 1948 in Mobile, AL a daughter of J. P. and Ruby Lambert McLeod.  She married Eugene W. DeWitte December 10, 1966 and he survives.

She grew up in Pensacola, FL and graduated from high school there.  She met her husband on a double date when he was in the US Navy stationed in Pensacola.  They moved to the Meadville area and she worked briefly as a real estate agent, in the Jewelry department at Wal-Mart and then in the Activities Dept at Wesbury United Methodist Community.

She and her husband attended the First Baptist Church where she sang in the choir.  She enjoyed painting, walks in the country, raising her two daughters and spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors, in addition to her husband Gene of 53 years, include: two daughters, Lori Nageotte (Brian) of Meadville and Jessica Foster (Michael) of Denver, PA; four grandchildren, Sarah and Jonathan Nageotte and Rebekah and William Foster; four sisters, Melba Antone of Idaho, Mildred Richardson of Alabama, Doris Bush of Tennessee and Jane Duke of Florida and nieces and nephews.

Due to the coronavirus, private family services will be Wednesday, September 23rd at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville with the Rev. Gerald Walton, Pastor of the First Baptist Church and Rev. Michael Foster, son-in-law, officiating.

Interment will be in Greendale Cemetery.

The family suggests memorials be made to the First Baptist Church, 353 Chestnut Street, Meadville, PA 16335
