Debra A. Burger

August 26, 1957 — July 15, 2016

Debra A. (Debbie) Burger, 58, of Meadville, went to be with the Lord Friday, July 15, 2016 at Meadville Medical Center following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born August 26, 1957 in Meadville, a daughter of Frederick E. Ramey and Joan M. Graden Ramey Rosado. Debbie attended Meadville and Conneaut Lake schools. She worked as a data analyst, also 3 years as scheduling secretary for the Orthopedic Assoc. of Meadville, and retired in 2014 from the surgery department at Meadville Medical Center following over 30 years of service. She was a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church and was a former church usher. Debbie was an avid walker, loved animals, nature, and reading. Her favorite pastime was following the band, The Clarks (a Pittsburgh area band). Truly a fan, she logged over 100 concerts over the past 20 years and truly appreciated their friendship. Survivors include a daughter, Jamie A. McCartney of Meadville; her father, Frederick E. Ramey and his wife Linda of Meadville; three grandchildren, Nicolle and Kristyn Long and Joshua McCartney; two sisters, Kathy Lynn Kightlinger of Meadville and Paula Jean Logsdon of Greenville; a brother, Michael Paul Ramey and his wife Jennifer of Gainesville, FL; two step-brothers, Edward and Kaine Marin; an aunt, Janet McKinney and her husband Albert; two uncles, Ronald Ramey and Robert Stewart; eight nieces and nephews, Justin Paden, Tina Cancilla, John Hedglin, Jr., Danny Hall, Chelsea Kightlinger, Carressa Kightlinger, Aric Logsdon, and Logan Logsdon; dear friends, Michael D. Esterly, Jaclyn Parady, and Judie Gilmore, all of Meadville; many cousins and other goods friends and co-workers; and she also leaves behind her beloved feline friends, Abbie, Sydney, and Buddy that were very precious to her. She was preceded in death by her mother; a sister, Carol Lee Ramey; her maternal grandparents, William and Virginia Graden; her paternal grandparents, Paul Ramey and Ethel Ramey Humes; and her Godparents, George and Leona Mitchell. A memorial service will be Monday at 6:00 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville with Bishop Stanley Smith and Elder Frances Stone of St. John Missionary Baptist Church officiating.
