Dee Shiffer

Dee Shiffer, 59, of Meadville, died suddenly, Friday, October 17, 1997 in State College, PA.

She was born in Meadville, March 30, 1938 a daughter of Rudolph O. and Lillie Mae Pritchard Anderson.  She married James W. Shiffer August 27, 1960.  He survives.

She was a 1956 graduate of Meadville High School, earned a BS degree from Penn State University and a MBA from Long Island University.  She was currently a doctoral candidate in organizational development at Kent State University.  For the past eight years, she was Assistant Professor of Management at Kent State University's Ashtabula campus and had previously taught at Alliance College, Mercyhurst College and had been Outreach Coordinator at Gannon University.

Mrs. Shiffer was active with the Penn Lakes Council of Girl Scouts of America, past president of Zonta, former communications vice president for the United Way of Western Crawford County, a member of the Meadville Medical Center Aux. and the program chairperson of its Charity Follies and a former member of Order of Rainbow for Girls.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include one daughter, Tara Shiffer of Clearwater, FL; one son, J. Todd Shiffer of Meadville; her father, Rudolph O. (Rudy) Anderson of Meadville; a sister, Gayle Keene of Andover, MA; two granddaughters, Christina and Samantha Shiffer and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, Bradley J. Shiffer and her mother, Lilly Mae Anderson.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
