On the evening of September 5, Della Mae Clayton-Conway left behind her beloved family farm and family. She fought a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on the farm to Herbert G. Clayton and Mildred V. (Pizer) Clayton. She is survived by her loving husband Thomas (Tik) Conway whom she married on February 17, 1973.
Della was a loving mother to her three children: Mandy (Mike) Rotz, Cory T Conway, and Crystal (Mike) Strohl. Loving grandmother to Paige and Caleb Conway; Noah, Eddie, and Bella Rotz; and Michael and Gabe Strohl. Sisters: Jean (Fred) Heckman, Pat (Larry) Reagle, Gloria J. Clayton, Debra (Kevin) Kelly, Kimberly Clayton (Brian). She leaves behind a brother John T. Clayton, as well as many nieces and nephews. Della is survived by her mother-in-law Gerri Conway. She also leaves behind her precious pets.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Glennie, Lewis, and Ed Clayton; and her father-in-law, William Conway.
Della was very devoted to her family. She overcame many hardships during her lifetime. She was a very strong person and will be dearly missed by family and friends.
She received outstanding care from her husband and three children during her illness. A very special thank you to Hospice for all their comfort and care.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Rose And Black Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. 99 Franklin Street, Stoneboro, where visitation will be from 12 pm – 2 pm on Monday, September 11. A funeral service will follow at 2 pm at the funeral home with Rev. Virginia LaVan-Gadbsy, officiating.
Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery
