Delmar R. Brooks

Delmar R. Brooks, 90, of Hartstown, died Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at his residence following a 6 month illness.

He was born May 4, 1922 in East Fallowfield Township, a son of Raymond and Minnie Mangold Brooks.  He had been married to Mabel Peterson and subsequently married E. Jean Hipple July 26, 1946.

Delmar was a graduate of East Fallowfield High School and was employed as an independent long distance truck driver for 38 years, retiring in 1984.  He previously worked for the Erie Railroad.

He was affiliated with Hartstown Presbyterian Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening.

Survivors, in addition to his loving wife Jean of 65 years, include a brother, William Harold Brooks and his wife Esther of Conneaut Lake and several nieces and nephews.

There are no calling hours.

Services are private with entombment at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
