Dennis Charles Baker

Dennis Charles Baker, 56, of 424 Walnut St., Meadville, died Sunday, February 11, 2007 at his residence following a heart related illness.

He was born in Meadville July 25, 1960, a son of Roy and Audrey M. Kranock Baker.

He was a 1968 graduate of Meadville High School and a 1972 honors graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.

He worked as an estimator at DeVore Construction Company and had worked for a short time at Vallonia Industries.  He enjoyed basketball in his earlier years where he was his high school basketball team manager, competed on the high school golf team, and was very talented artistically and with computers.  He enjoyed playing golf and was well known for his golf skills in local golf scrambles with family members.

He was of the Methodist faith.

Survivors include his mother, Audrey M. Baker of Meadville; two brothers, Gary L. Baker and his wife Donna of Meadville and Don G. Baker of Meadville; and an Aunt, Helen Shaffer of Tennessee.  He was preceded in death by his father.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Meadville Medical Center Foundation, 1034 Grove St., Meadville, PA 16335.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.
