Dennis L. Carr

Dennis L. Carr, 70, of Ypsilanti, MI died Sunday, May 21, 2017 at Beaumont Hospital, Dearborn, MI.

He was born July 7, 1946 in Meadville, a son of the late Betty Carr.  He married Linda Palahunik Cherry May 6, 1989 and she survives.

Dennis was a 1965 graduate of Meadville High School and a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Pembroke.  He retired in 2013.

Dennis enjoyed traveling, was an avid reader, and loved sports.

Survivors, in addition to his wife Linda, include a daughter, Michele Wessel and her husband Matt of Pittsburgh; two stepsons, David Cherry of Conneaut Lake and Daniel Cherry of Poland; five grandchildren, Noah, Jacob, Kasia, Sorrell, and Sophie; a brother, David Carr and his wife Helen of Meadville; two sisters, Nancy Hoegerl and Judy Needler, both of Meadville; two aunts, Ruth Ann Amdal of Saegertown and Marge Hogue of Meadville; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; and his beloved dogs Bailey and Matilda.

Calling hours will be Friday from 3 to 5 p.m. at the ROBERT W. WAID FUNERAL HOME, 581 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE where the funeral service will follow at 5:00 p.m. with the Rev. Sarah Roncolato, Pastor of Stone United Methodist Church, officiating.

Memorials may be made to the Meadville Public Library, 848 N. Main St., Meadville, PA 16335.
