Dewey L. Lingo

May 22, 1898 — December 16, 1973

Dewey L. Lingo, 75, of Guys Mills, died at City Hospital on Sunday, December 16, 1973, after a long illness.  He had been hospitalized for two months.

Born in Tryonville, Steuben Township, May 22, 1898, he was a son of Jake and Sarah Wheeling Lingo.  He married Julia Clark on July 3, 1916.  Mr. Lingo was retired from FMC Corp. where he had been employed in the mixing and storage department for 25 years.  He was a member and lay leader of the Church of the Nazarene.

Survivors include his widow; two daughters, Mrs. Lawrence (Fern) Cox of Guys Mills and Mrs. Howard (Mary Lou) Johnson of Meadville; a son, Ladd V. Lingo of Meadville; two sisters, Mrs. Edna Van Cise and Mrs. Herschel (Betty) Longberry, both of Townville; three brothers, Archie of Tryonville, John of Centerville and Rev. George Lingo of Wray, CO; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond and Floyd Lingo.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Kingsley Cemetery.
