Diane Marie Scholes, 66 of Mercer, passed away on February 15, 2023 following an extended illness.
Diane was born on January 12, 1957 at Aultman Hospital in Canton, OH, a daughter of the late Evelyn Davis and Arliss Streets. A 1990 graduate of Lorain’s Hairstyling Academy, she worked as a licensed cosmetologist for several years.
In her spare time, Diane enjoyed Sci-Fi and Western television shows, her favorites being Gunsmoke , Bonanza , and The Rifleman . She also enjoyed Soap Operas, like As the World Turns and General Hospital . An avid gardener, she relished canning her vegetables and preparing holiday meals for her family. She was a proud mother, grandmother, and owner of her beloved Yorkie, Bella. She loved watching her grandchildren grow into young men and was so very proud of them. A fan of the outdoors, she looked forward to having a mixed beverage with Diet Squirt on weather permitting days, seeing the snow of Pennsylvania, and visiting the beaches of Florida. One of her favorite sayings was, “you can have or do anything you want in this life as long as you put your mind to it”. Diane had a way of brightening anyone’s day with her wit, sarcasm, and infectious smile of laughter. She will be greatly missed by her sons and all who loved her.
Diane was Christian by faith. She was also a member of the American Legion Post 159, Mercer, PA, and served the organization as their bartender.
Survivors left to cherish Diane’s memory are her sons, Darren Millhoff (Sharon, PA), and Michael Millhoff (St. Petersburg, FL); sisters, Linda Yarian-Swerengen (Columbiana, OH), and Rachael David (East Liverpool, OH); grandsons, Cole Millhoff (Sharon, PA), and William Major Millhoff (Louisville, OH); as well as numerous other family members.
