Donald “Blake” Allen, 77 of Stoneboro, passed away on May 12, 2024 at Lakeview Manor surrounded by friends while listening to scriptures. Blake was born in Greenville on May 9, 1947 to George and Alice Stallsmith Allen. He attended Cochranton Schools. Blake worked for various construction companies in Crawford County. He was honorably discharged from the United States Army.
Blake survived a horrific car accident that left him disabled having to re-learn all activities of daily life. There were many kind people that picked him up when they saw him hitch hiking. Blake attended the New Castle School of Trades for welding, having helped his father in his welding business. He enjoyed reading, especially books by Louis L’Amour, tending the many gardens he’d planted and giving the produce away to family and friends. He also enjoyed watching game shows on TV and pulling a good practical joke.
Blake was of the Methodist faith and enjoyed walking to his Uncle Andy’s church on Sunday mornings.
Blake is survived by his son Chad of Bradford, daughter Samantha of Las Vegas, grandchildren: Revel and Rex of Las Vegas, sisters: Ruth Ann (Richard) Wescott of Poulsbo, WA, Patricia Zinz of Franklin, and Alyson Betts of Cochranton, brothers: John Allen of Parker and Scott (Joyce) Allen of Florida and Cochranton, sister-in-law Jeannie Allen of West Freedom, PA, numerous nieces and nephews, as well as dear friends and caregivers: Candy and Kenny Thomas.
