Donald L. Coast, Sr.

Donald L. Coast Sr., 79, of Jackson Center, PA, passed away on January 14, 2025 in his home, surrounded by his family. Donald was born on August 31, 1945 in Cottage Hospital in Mercer PA, to the late Elgie Leroy and Rita Theresa Coast. 

Donald married the love of his life, Judith Carol Spencer, on December 9, 1967. She survives at home.

Donald worked for over 21 years at Polk Center as a custodian. He was a member of the NRA and loved his guns. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, never missing a chance to hit the woods or get a rod in the water. His favorite things to do were drinking beer and listening to country western music and the Grand Ole Opry. Don enjoyed riding his lawnmower around the community and giving the kids rides. He was thrilled when he was able to communicate over his CB or HAM radio. Most of all he enjoyed fellowship and friendship with his family and friends. 

In addition to his beloved wife, Donald is survived by his sons, Donald (Jessi) L. Coast Jr., Timothy J. Coast; his grandchildren, Darren “Mac”, Tiffany Lynn, Timothy Jr., Jordan Alyssa, and Joshua Thomas; his great-grandchildren, Mathias Joel and Mykah Kay Lynn; his siblings, Pearl (Ted) M. Spencer of Jackson Center and Rita (Randy) M. Hedglin of Florida, as well as sisters-in-law Marion (Mike) Jean Lindsey of Utica, PA and Mary Spencer of Franklin, PA, in addition to numerous nieces and nephews. 

Donald was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Samantha Lynn Coast, two brothers, Richard John and Thomas Elgie, as well as brother-in-law Robert James (Jim) Spencer. 

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Rose and Black Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 99 Franklin St, Stoneboro, PA, 16153. Per Donald’s wishes, there will be no services.
