Donald James “Don” Gilliland, 91 of Stoneboro, passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family at 9:02 AM on January 31, 2018. Don was born in Sandy Lake on May 10, 1926 to the late Dudley David and Bessie Moyer Gilliland. He was a 1944 graduate of Sandy Lake High School and worked for many years at Westinghouse as a Coil Winder. He married his beloved wife, Joan Sullivan Gilliland on August 23, 1952. She preceded him in death on January 17, 1992. Don proudly served his Country in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. Don was of the Catholic Faith. Don is survived by his children, son Thomas Gilliland and his girlfriend Kathleen Goodwin of Stoneboro, daughter Kathleen Raines and husband William of Bonifay, FL, a brother David Gilliland and wife Phyllis of Stoneboro, a sister Viola Parker, two grandchildren David Raines and wife Karen of Dothan, AL, and Jennifer Raines of Pensacola, FL, two great-grandchildren, Neil and Carly Simon of Pensacola, FL, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Don was preceded in death by his brother Howard Gilliland, and brother-in-law Donald Parker. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Black Funeral Home, Stoneboro. Funeral services will be private. Interment will be in St. Columbkille Cemetery.
