Donald L. Hargenrader

Donald L. Hargenrader, 84, of Guys Mills, died Monday, March 26, 2018 at home surrounded by his family.

He was born December 26, 1933 in Meadville a son of Harold and Leda Gandelot Hargenrader.  He married Dorothy L. Gable April 11, 1959 at St. Hippolyte Church in Frenchtown and she survives.

He was a veteran serving in the US Army from 1956 – 1958.  He was a farmer and worked at Patterson’s Auto Wrecking for almost 20 years.  He enjoyed watching westerns on television and was an avid Yankees fan.

Survivors, in addition to his wife Dorothy of 58 years, include:  three children, Harold and his wife Christina and their children, Brooke and Wesley Hargenrader all of Meadville, Gerald Hargenrader of Guys Mills and Cheryl Hargenrader Hartman and her husband Daniel and children, Daniel and his children Malayna and Mohana, son Matthew, daughter Shania and son John and his wife Keely and their children Ashley and Sophia all of Union City and a sister, Ruth Ann Goodman of Meadville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Donald L. Hargenrader, Jr.

Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville with a Scripture Prayer Service at 6:45 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Hippolyte Church, 26012 N. Frenchtown Road, Guys Mills with Fr. Daniel Prez, celebrant.  Military Honors will follow, provided by Huidekoper VFW Post #2006.
