Donald W. Vaughn

Donald W. Vaughn, 80, of Meadville died at home surrounded by his family Wednesday, August 3, 2016.

He was born in Dunbar, PA February 26, 1936 a son of Harry E. and Pearl Whipkey Vaughn.  He married Alice L. Sparks September 1, 1956 and she survives.

He was a graduate of Dunbar Twp. High School (Fayette Co.) and was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the US Navy from 1954-1958.  He retired as the Meadville Branch Manager for Trumbull Industries in 2000 after over 20 years of service.  In his retirement he worked as Inventory Manager for Leech Tool & Die.  He was a member of the American Legion and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Survivors, in addition to his wife Alice of 59 years, include: five children, Barbara Joyce Vaughn of Meadville, Donald Jeffrey Vaughn of Conneaut Lake, David Jay Vaughn and his wife Barbara Jean of Conneaut Lake, Gary Allen Vaughn and his wife Wendy Leigh of Harmonsburg and Peggy Sue Vaughn Long and her husband Phillip of Cobbs Creek, VA; six grandchildren, Brent Cosner and his wife Peggy, Bonnie Cosner, Donald Joseph Vaughn, Sara Lynn Vaughn, Samantha Vaughn and Jordan Vaughn and two great grandchildren, Alex Shallenberger and Jake Cosner.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Vaughn and two sisters, Margaret Butler and Hazel Prinkey.

Calling hours will be Saturday from 1-3 p.m. at the WAID-COLEMAN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 12422 CONNEAUT LAKE RD., CONNEAUT LAKE.  The funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Jim Chapin, Pastor of Living Word Christian Center, Greenville, officiating.
