Donna L. Cornell

Donna L. Cornell, 68, of 12528 Townline Road, Meadville and a resident of Beverly Health Care – Meadville since August 2005 died there Sunday, November 06, 2005.

She was born in East Cleveland, OH August 17, 1939 a daughter of Harry F. and Amelia L. Prohaske Norris.  She first married Cephus F. Ayers and subsequently married Carl A. Cornell June 5, 1971 and he preceded her in death February 23, 1999.

She helped her husband with the operation of his business, Cornell and Sons Garage in Lake Worth, FL.  She was a clerk at K-Mart in Florida and clerked at various retail businesses in Meadville.  She also helped as a driver for various Amish families in the area.

She was a graduate of Lake Worth Junior/Senior High School.  She was a member of Bible Baptist Church, Meadville and she enjoyed traveling and genealogy.

Survivors, include: two sons, Robert F. Cornell and his wife Lesa of Sebring, FL and Michael G. Cornell of Meadville; two daughters, Kim Lee Gillette and her husband Timothy of Linesville and Brandi A. Cornell of Erie; one stepson, Daniel Cornell of Lantana, FL; one stepdaughter, Tona-Lee Carter of Royal Palm Beach, FL; one sister, Betty J. Drake of Lake Worth, FL; four grandchildren, Christopher Cornell, Keith Gillette, Corey Gillette and Carlee Lauren Cornell, four nieces and one nephew.

In a addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Harold E. Norris; two stepsons, Reginald Cornell and Jan Cornell and one stepdaughter, Autumn Hinkle.

Calling hours will be Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.

The funeral service will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Phillip Thomas, Pastor of Bible Baptist Church, officiating.

Burial will be in Kiser Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, 300 6th Avenue, Suite 260M, Pittsburgh, PA 15222 or the American Cancer Society, 464 Pine Street, Meadville, PA 16335.
