Donna L. Kilner, 83, a former Erie resident and a resident of Wesbury United Methodist Community, Meadville, died peacefully there surrounded by her family on Monday January 8, 2007.
She was born in Mercer, May 21, 1923, a daughter of Charles E. and Eva Rebecca Hughes Allen. She married Paul B. Kilner June 22, 1946 and he preceded her in death on February 24, 1998.
Donna was a 1941 graduate of Mercer High School and a 1943 graduate of Shenango Valley Commercial Institute. She retired in 1985 as Director of Property Management for the Spiegel Management Co. of Erie. Previously she had been employed at the Keystone Ordinance Works in Crawford County, and at the Mercer County Court House.
She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Erie, and a life member of Chapter #180, Order of Eastern Star, Mercer.
Survivors include one son, Jeffrey A. Kilner and his wife Jeanette of Titusville, one daughter Rebecca Michalak and her husband John of Saegertown, 2 grandchildren, Alissa Fulton of Pittsburgh and Jeffrey P. Kilner of Titusville, one brother, Gordon Allen of Tucson, AZ and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Evelyn Freehling and 2 brothers, Wendell and Jack Allen.
A visitation hour will be Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. McCracken Chapel of Cribbs Home at Wesbury United Methodist Community, 31 North Park Ave., Meadville, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m.
Officiating will be the Rev. David Janz, Pastor of Christ United Methodist Church, Erie and the Rev. Ellen Rezek, Chaplain of Wesbury, officiating.
Burial will be in Citizens Cemetery, Mercer.
