Dorothea H. Rudy

Dorothea H. Rudy, 90, formerly of Stewart St., Meadville and a current resident of Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community, died there Monday, May 14, 2012 following a period of declining health.

She was born July 6, 1921 in Meadville, a daughter of Ralph and Eva Hays Plautz.  She married Richard M. Rudy November 19, 1969 and he preceded her in death February 19, 1974.

Dorothea worked as a caregiver for the William Davis family for over 27 years and also worked as a nurse’s aide at the former Flickinger’s Nursing Home.  She previously worked for 22 years as a receptionist at the Glaubach Studios.

She enjoyed flowers and gardening and was an avid reader.

Services are private with interment in Blooming Valley Cemetery.
