Dorothy C. Sliter, 101, of Guys Mills and a resident of Wesbury United Methodist Community, died there, Thursday, July 23, 2020.
She was born September 27, 1918 in Meadville a daughter of Lee and Joie Cooper. She married Archie E. “Bud” Sliter September 27, 1935 and he preceded her in death September 7, 1987.
She was a 1937 graduate of Randolph High School and retired after 38 years from American Viscose Co. She was a member of the United Evangelical Free Church of Guys Mills. She made quilts for Project Linus as well as countless loved ones. She was a member of the MacPherson Clan of America and served as the secretary/treasurer of the Union Cemetery Board for 20 years.
She is survived by a son, Gary Sliter (Joyce) of Guys Mills; three grandchildren, Joan Mulcahy (Mark) of Massachusetts, Barbara Kirberger (Michael) of Georgia and Mary Sliter of California; five great grandchildren and a half-sister, Amy Devore of Florida
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Harry Randall; a sister, Gladys Adzima and a half-brother, E. J. “Cork” Randall.
Graveside services will be Saturday, July 25th at 11 a.m. at Union Cemetery, Guys Mills.
