Dorothy C.M. Conner

Dorothy C.M. Conner, 85, of 1237 Carmont Drive, died Friday, December 28, 2007 at Wesbury United Methodist Community, Meadville, PA.

She was born in St. Catharines, ONT, Canada, November 21, 1922 a daughter of George and Ethel Mae Caughill Fix.  She married David S.P. Conner July 17, 1959 and he survives.

She was a graduate of St. Catharines Collegiate Academy a member of the St. Catharines Country Club.  She worked as an office secretary at the Lightning Fastener Co. and at the Port Weller Dry Dock in St. Catharines, Ontario.  After she moved to Meadville, PA, she worked for 10 years as a legal secretary in the office of Peter Blystone, Esq.

She attended the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland, Alliance College in Cambridge Springs, PA and Allegheny College in Meadville, PA.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Meadville, Womens Literary Club, Meadville Women’s Club and the Meadville Country Club.

Survivors in addition to her husband David of 48 years, include two sons, Dr. David S.P. Conner and his wife Dr. Andrea Flieder of Huntington, Long Island, NY and Edward C.G. Conner and his wife Andrea of Cary, NC; four sisters, Marjorie Lutomski of St. Catharines, ONT, Helen Bird and her husband William of Beachburg, ONT, Isabel Colby and her husband Kenneth of St. Petersburg, FL and Barbara Markson of Escondido, CA; four grandchildren, Phillip, Sean, Benjamin and Claire Conner and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be Saturday, January 5th from 10-12 a.m. and 2-4 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville, PA.  The funeral will follow at 4 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be in South Laurel Hill Cemetery, Philadelphia, PA.

The family suggests memorials be made to The First Presbyterian Church, 890 Liberty Street, Meadville, PA 16335 or a charity of the donor’s choice.
