Dorothy E. Bachman, 93 of Jackson Center, passed away at her home on February 21, 2019. Dorothy was born in Jackson Center on May 20, 1925 to the late John McPherson and Nettie Kastel. She was a graduate of Mercer High School and went on to work at Cooper Bessemer in Grove City as a lathe operator during WWII. After the war she worked for many years as a beautician out of her own home, and worked on the family dairy farm. Dorothy married her beloved husband, Davis H. Bachman in Winchester, VA on October 5, 1942, he preceded her in death on February 24, 2011. Dorothy was a longtime member of Jackson Center Presbyterian Church, where she served for 20+ years as the church treasurer and also was involved in the Women’s Assoc., Mothers Club, and sang in the choir. She enjoyed swimming in the lake on the farm as well as ice skating. She also enjoyed roller skating and traveling with her late husband. She loved her family dearly and loved preparing holiday family meals and hosting family reunions. She was a strong, loving woman who’s “Love Never Stopped”. Dorothy is survived by her children, Ellen (Gene) Swartz of Mercer, David (Sandy) Bachman of Jackson Center, Kathy (Frank) Bronson of Jackson Center, and Lori (Rodney) Zahniser of Jackson Center, 9 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by her son, John Bachman, and her brother, George McPherson. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Black Funeral Home of STONEBORO, 99 Franklin Street, where family and friends are welcome from 4 pm to 7 pm on Monday, February 25. Addition visitation will be held from 10-11 am on Tuesday, February 26, at the Jackson Center Presbyterian Church, 1198 Franklin Road, Jackson Center, with a Funeral service following at 11 am. Interment will take place in Crestview Memorial Park, Grove City.
