Dorothy Emig

November 2, 1910 — January 11, 1993

Dorothy Emig, 82, of Meadville, a former saleswoman, died Monday, January 11, 1993, at St. Vincent Health Center in Erie after an illness of three months.

She was born in Milwaukee, WI, November 2, 1910, a daughter of Herman and Mary Wilkie Friedrich.  She married John William Sorger.  He preceded her in death in 1937.  She subsequently married Leonard Hauley Emig in 1959.  He survives.

She had worked at John J. Shryock Co. as a saleswoman for many years.  She attended the former Zion Evangelical and Reformed Church of Meadville.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two sons, Eugene Sorger of Fowler, OH and Arthur L. Sorger of Saegertown; a daughter, Mrs. Blake (Joyce) Adsit of Cochranton; a stepdaughter, Marjorie Lobin of Milwaukee; a stepson, Richard Emig of Meadville; two sisters, Bernice Bardaro of Cleveland, OH and Mildred Gross of Venango; ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, John R. Sorger; two brothers, Ervin Friedrich and Herman Friedrich; and two sisters, Norma Karns and Edna Bradway.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
