Dorothy F. Hanks

Dorothy F. Hanks, 76, of Conneaut Lake, died Friday, December 16, 2004 at the Crawford County Care Center.

She was born in Meadville, June 24, 1928, a daughter of Julian and Gertrude Rholeder Fixel.  She married Jacob E. Hanks April 16, 1950 and he preceded her in death May 26, 1999.

She was a 1946 graduate of Meadville High School and then worked briefly as a teller for the former First National Bank.  She was a very active member and former Elder of High Street Community Church, where she also organized the Chrismon Program and was involved in the quilting events.  She was also a member of Lakeland Rebekah Lodge #142, Conneaut Lake.  She was a very gracious, caring and helpful person.

Survivors, include two sons, Robert W. Hanks of Pittsburgh and George W. Hanks (Terrie) of Pittsburgh and three grandsons, Geoffrey Hanks, Matthew Hanks and Michael Hanks.

Services were held at Waid-Coleman Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
