Dorothy G. Abbott

Dorothy G. Abbott, 73, a resident of the Quality Living Center since the early 1990’s died there Monday, September 1, 2008.

She was born in Meadville August 7, 1935 a daughter of Wilson O. and Amanda M. Lemke Hunt.  She married Donald Harry Abbott September 1, 1956 and he preceded her in death March 27, 1984.

She worked with her husband as a baker at Foulk’s Bakery in Conneaut Lake and then in the Bakery Department of Super Duper Grocery Store in Erie.

She attended First Christian Church and enjoyed reading the Bible.  She loved to cook and was active in the kitchen at the Quality Living Center.  She enjoyed crafts, especially crocheting, plastic canvas and quilting. She was a graduate of Meadville High School.

Survivors, include a daughter, Patricia A. Thomas and her husband Alfred of Youngstown, OH; two brothers, William Hunt and his wife Levina of Meadville and Robert Hunt; four grandchildren, Christina McClellan Tosh, Sabbatha Marie McClellan Brandon, Christopher Michael Krepps and Jaymie Lynn Krepps and twenty great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother Herbert Ray Hunt

Calling hours will be Saturday from 2-4 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.  The funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Terry Clark, Pastor of First Christian Church, officiating.
