Dorothy G. Chatley

Dorothy G. Chatley, 71, of 711 North St., Meadville, died Sunday, May 26, 2002 at Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community following a period of declining health.

She was born January 21, 1931 in Oakdale, a daughter of the late Elliot M. and Ruth Hayes Gearhart. She married Herbert D. Chatley November 13, 1952 and he preceded her in death March 25, 2001.

She was a homemaker and worked briefly in the 1970’s at the former Bozic, Bozic, Thomas and Truax Law firm.  She was a member of Park Congregational Church.

Survivors include two sons, Edward R. Chatley of Harrisburg and Donald P. Chatley and his wife Debbie of McConnellsburg; two daughters, Linda J. Chatley of Meadville and Nancy L. Richards and her husband Harry of Narvon; a sister, Sarah G. Jamison and her husband Frank of McDonald; a brother, Robert G. Gearhart and his wife Maxine of Gonzales, LA; and four grandchildren, Victoria Chatley and Michael, Andrew, and Jamie Richards.  In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Clark.

Calling hours will be Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.

The funeral service will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. John Miller, Pastor of Park Congregational Church, officiating.

Burial will be in New Lebanon Cemetery, Millcreek Twp., Mercer Co.
