Dorothy H. Steiner

Dorothy H. Steiner, 100, formerly of Ellis Avenue, Meadville died Saturday, December 3, 2016 at Wesbury United Methodist Community.

She was born in Westview, PA (Allegheny County) May 8, 1916 a daughter of Alexander J. and Sophia Smith Steiner.

She was a 1934 graduate of Ford City High School and worked as a manager/secretary for PPG Industries for 48 years retiring in 1982.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and was a former Deacon and Elder.  She also a member of the Meadville Woman’s Club, Philo-Mathesian Club and Thesaurus Club.  She also volunteered at the Meadville Medical Center.

She is survived by two nieces, Marilyn Leyva and her husband Chris of Las Cruces, NM and Celeste Lexow and her husband Col. Lee of Bull Valley, IL; a nephew, Milton Edward Steiner of Lockport, NY and good friends, Katy and Ike Mutlu of Arlington, VA.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Milton Edward Steiner and his wife Ada and her nephew Milton Edward’s wife, Lisa Steiner.

The memorial service will be Friday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of First Presbyterian Church 890 Liberty Street, Meadville with the Rev. Dr. Brian K. Jensen, officiating.

Interment will be in Ford City Cemetery.
