Dorothy I. Coston

Dorothy I. Coston, 89, a resident of the Crawford County Care Center, entered into eternal rest there, Saturday, June 12, 2010.

She was born in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada February 2, 1921 a daughter of Frederick and Florence King Gray.  She married Richard E. Coston July 26, 1939 and he preceded her in death September 9, 2001.

She worked at various places over the years, including Vanraalte Silk Mill in Dunkirk, NY, at Talon Inc., in the housekeeping department of City Hospital as an outpatient clerk at Spencer Hospital and finally as an outpatient clerk at Corry Hospital.

She was a graduate of Dunkirk High School and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors, include: two sons, William L. Coston and his wife Lea Ann of Meadville and Richard E. Coston, Jr. and his wife Gene of North Carolina; a daughter, Shannah Karastury and her husband Michael of Meadville; a sister, Margaret Sledd of Folsom, CA, eight grandchildren, three step grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant brother.

A service for family and friends will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel of Roselawn Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Dave Brumagin, officiating.

The family suggests memorials be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
